There's Something in the Air - Page 6 Empty
PostSubject: Re: There's Something in the Air   There's Something in the Air - Page 6 EmptyFri Mar 05, 2010 10:27 pm

Before Knurla knew it he was riding on the back of the dragon who belongs to his former guild leader. David Tarr was told from Knurla to find Sam, Darkest, or any other rider, and just follow their lead. The sparkling blue dragon, wearing a set of armor to cover her chest and belly, flared smoke out of her nostrils, ready to do what destruction she could just as well.
They found the battlefield. David's beast (whom I unfortunately forgot her name. I'll make her a new one later. =/) circled above the trees and roared her battlecry, and that was when David jumped down into the trees, and landed who-knew-where. All he knew was he could hear the fighting in the distance. Hopefully when he caught up with it, the monsters won't be the first he'll meet. He wasn't 100% prepared, and he knew it.

Knurla on the other hand would deal with the general. He wondered how Darkest would handle a situation like this. Just don't give him the chance to hurt you. Knurla told himself over and over in his head. Did the general even know whether he was a rider or not? Knurla changed the words in his head: Take no chances whatsoever. Knurla swerved David's dragon around--the wind generated by her wings were blowing a tree or two down on the battlefield. At last, Knurla patted the dragon on her head, wished her luck and safety, and he jumped off too. The blue beast was left free-flying.

David didn't want to interrupt Sam from her fight. But he didn't know how to fight these undead creatures himself. Don't get scared... I'm right behind you. It's David. He introduced telepathically to Sam. I'm at your command, any way I can help. Where was Darkest...? He eyed the grounds for him. If he wasn't standing in this battle, it may be too much for himself to handle. He was scared.

The novice Captain landed on his back.
Damn, my magic, it's not what it used to be. Earlier while they were in the air, David had informed Knurla of his brother's death. Could Heir's death be affecting the potential of Knurla's magic, perhaps? It was his only explanation. But thankfully, magic was not his first resort of offense. If anything, he wanted to use it as little as he must.
Where Knurla landed, the grounds were silent. The only signs of life in these woods, it seemed, were the cockroaches around the dead tree branches. Knurla set a ward on his entire backside. No one sneaks up behind me, Knurla promised. And he began his search through the woods for the main battle, and his General.

The dragon stared down at the rider, speechless for a moment. With a shake of his great head, he sent a wave of fire towards the remaining dead, scorching them. Their forms remained as black spots on the ground. With Darkest upon his back, G`reth crushed the body of the the dead creature that had crept underneath him. He roared confidently, letting Sam know he was victorious and he leapt up into the air, ensuring he didn't move Darkest too much.

Damn it... Was everything he knew about this man wrong? He growled softly, spinning in the air, trying to spot more of the undead creatures in the night. His flaming barrier was keeping most as bay, but some were getting through. He remembered Darkest on his back. Hoping the man wasn't concussed, the dragon thought quickly. |Sam will be fine. She can take care of herself. You know this.| With a brief pause, he asked. |Why do you have to take Sam to the bad guys?| G`reth asked in a soothing voice. |Darkest, talk to me... don't pass out.| The red dragon felt a pang of pity towards the elementalist. Graendl... it had been too long. |And the wind witch?|

G'reth growled softly at Darkest's words. They couldn't have been more true. With the new revelations, the dragon quickly picked up speed and continued his fiery barrier. Whatever undead creature he saw, he destroyed. He roared, dirving them back before sending their dead corpses up in flames. He could see Sam's bonfire still crackling merrily a ways back and the dragon paused, pumping his wings hard to maintain his altitude. Darkest said he didn't want Sam to know he was here. But the dragon has to go protect his rider. What was he going to do with Darkest. The red growled softly and looked towards Bullridge which was close by. With a snort of determination, G`reth soared off to the city.

Sam barely got a chance to drop her bow before catching the brand. Bloody hell! It was hot, the heat from the brand hurt her hand but she held on, having a feeling that Alanna was more than she appeared to be. Sam glanced towards Alanna curiously but only for a moment. An undead creature rushed at her and Sam jabbed it in the face with the brand, hoping that it would do some damage.

Salah and Eldor fought side by side. Salah shot down the undead servants of the Empire with her arrows while her dragon removed them with a calculated fireball or a slash of his deadly tail. Even with the dragon on their side, Salah and Eldor were being overwhelmed. The undead creatures choosing to rush the dragon rather than get closer to Sam's magical fire. Salah shot down three creatures and Eldor's fiery breathe removed another four but one slipped past racing at Salah. The vampire tried to grab another arrow but fear rose up in her like a beast, stopping her arm. The undead was five feet from her when it was hit by a flaming arrow and fell burning at her feet. Eldor crushed it underneath his foot, raking it apart with his talons. Salah tried to spot her savior but it was too dark. She could only see that he or she was fighting for their life as well against the horde. "Brisingr!" the vampire cried out quickly, sending a fireball hurtling towards the person. She saw a shadow leap backwards, out of range of the fiery ob. It exploded consuming the undead creatures. A man with scraggly brown hair leap out of the trees, throwing Salah a thankful look. She started at his appearence. Eldor roared and the vampire turned away from the man, focusing on the ever coming undead.

Blaze had thrown herself into the battle without hisitation and removing herself from part of the group. She hacked and burned the beasts with a little diffculty because of the numbers. Her flame leaving her made her pause, and she turned to see what was going on, thinking it was a bigger threat. It was just Alanna though, Blaze would have never guessed she would have that much power. Blaze smiled approvingly. That's what she got for underestamating. Always happened. A sharp prick at her back brought Blaze out of her thoughts and she returned to the fight.

G'reth never felt Darkest slipping. With his mind distracted by the undead below, he turned his head just in time to see the man fall. He roared and was just about to slip into a dive when Darkest's words hit him. The dragon was torn.. And then he felt the power of magic slip into the air. With a swift glance back to Darkest's falling form the dragon took off, his wings pumping frantically.

Bloody hell.... Sam thought to herself before ducking down. Only for a moment. The undead still surged forward, either flaming or severed. Sam pulled out her scimitars quickly igniting the edge with her mind. The elf chopped down two of the flaming creatures and started for another. She saw Salah's incredulous look out of the corner of her eye but had no time to comment. Three dead creatures came at her. Running between two of them, she chopped their legs out from under them. Not losing any momentum, the nimble elf jumped on the third, her kicks collapsing it's skull. She heard the roar of a dragon, her dragon, and her determination rose.

PostSubject: Re: There's Something in the Air   There's Something in the Air - Page 6 EmptyWed Mar 10, 2010 5:12 pm

The roar of her dragon stirred Sam into action. So did the rising sun. Pulling out one of her scimitars, she rushed forward into the next pack of undead. Her nimble blade tucked neatly into the dead flesh, ripping it from the corpse. The headless bodies dropped to the ground twisting before they burst into flames. The elf felt something on the edge of her dragon's mind.. familiar but he blocked it, telling her not to lose her focus. After chopping down five more undead, a nagging feeling clung to the rider's mind.

That wind... it had felt so... familiar? How...

It all came back in a moment. The elementalist she had saved.
She'd know that air magic anywhere. She'd personally taken it out of the girl herself.
The girl... Alanna.

Sam shot an incredulous look at the girl. Her appearence was different. Must have been Darkest. She pursed her lips. Last time that ass had drugged her. She felt a glimmer of sadness from her dragon. Confused, she glanced up into the sky. |What?|
|Nothing. Later. You have more pressing matters coming from your right|

Sam turned. "Jierda!" The legs of the undead that had rushed her snapped underneath it, sending it sprawling at her feet. Quickly igniting it, she spun to catch the next creature. Her scimitar stuck into a rib, forcing her to let go of the weapon. Without thinking, she snatched a dagger out of her boot, enchanted it, and threw the flaming blade right into the eye of the undead. She pulled her blades out as the corpse burned. The flames licked her hands and she cursed lightly, her hands a dull red. She thought about Darkest. He could just walk through fire if it pleased him. The thought was brief and she was under attack again.

"I figured it wouldn't be much help anyway, our own army would never catch up to these undead creatures--wherever the hell it is they are headed for." Knurla answered. He did wonder why his General wore a mask, but didn't bother to question it. And at any rate, he obviously knew about the undead army himself, shouldn't have to wait for Knurla to report it. "General, how intelligent are these brainless creatures? They may be strong, but we outsmart them! Isn't there some way we can... fool them into thinking the Riders are gone? Or simply, start attacking each other?" Knurla did not forget the possibility that the General himself may be in charge of this whole undead invasion, and kept cautious, and untrusting.

G'reth flew quickly overheard, scorching any creature within his range. He connected with Sam's eyes before looking around. He spotted Alanna, in anguish? The red dragon paused, hovering in the air with heavy wingbeats.

|What is it?| he said to her, easily making it into her mind. He roared and dove. With a sweep of his tail he cut down several undead, giving Jezzin more room to fight.

G'reth spun around in shock, instantly getting the reference. |No, impossible.| the dragon said to Alanna. He roared and dove, consuming seven undead with his fiery breathe. In his angry, he picked one off the ground and tore it to pieces, dropping them back to the earth.
--x
Sam felt her dragon's sorrow. |What is it?!| she said to him, glancing around quickly to see if any of them had fallen. No one, except Alanna. She appeared uninjured though.. but in anguish. Jezzin still stood fighting. Bloody hell...
|G`reth!|
--x
Caelia stepped lightly into the building where they had left Alanna. Her hellhound turned it's head, growling but once it saw her it sat still. It seemed too quiet, but it was night after all. Laron came quickly after her, a dagger still in his hands. Trying to find out what was going on, the drow had tried looking for Darkest but to no avail. Instead of continuing the search, they found out what they needed themselves.

"Anyone alive?" the priestess shouted out in annoyance.

The dragon roared loudly and Sam felt some of his sorrow.
|Damn it G`reth!|
|He's gone|
Sam paused for a moment.
|...Darkest?|
|Yes.|
|How?|
|I don't know, he fell during the fight with the undead.|
|He was here!?|
|Yes... he didn't want me to tell you. He thought I was Graendl|

Sam felt some tears come to her eyes and she fought them off, having the same feeling as Jezzin that ths wasn't quite over. Her heart felt like it had been ripped in two. The old crew, slowly dwindling one by one. How long until she met her end? She angrily brushed several tears from her cheeks and looked into her dragon's eyes.

The red dragon landed before his rider, standing protectively in front of her. G'reth spun on the revenants, staring them down with his piercing gaze. Sam tried to pry her mind away from her thoughts and memories but they assailed her viciously. This couldn't be happening.. there is no way he was dead..

G'reth roared angrily, slashing forward with his tail, clipping one of the revenants. He snaked his neck back and blew a jet of flame at three of the undead creatures. Sam stood still behind him, wanting to get back to action, but she couldn't. Her body was numb...

G'reth kept the jet of flame going easily. He hadn't trained for years and years for nothing. Thinking quickly the dragon slashed out with his tail, breaking their concentration and sending them tumbling to the ground. Letting loose a torrent of flame, as compared to the much smaller jet he had used before he incinerated three of the revenants. Their bodies cracked and hissed as the fire consumed them. He let out a little roar of delight and lashed out once more with his tail to keep the other revenants away from Sam. She was still where she was, but her eyes had diverged from the ground to Jezzin. She watched as the blade pierced him.

It felt like it had pierced her as well. Sam felt her body numb for a moment, but then anger replaced the icy grip. She felt the fire grow in her core, her blood rushing through her veins. Salah and Eldor were being forced back, trying to avoid the revenants icy grip. Her eyes turned to G`reth, valiantly fighting off the revenants by himself. Rider and dragon. If they were going down, hell, it would be as one!

With her wards around her, Sam felt the fire consume her soul, trying to listen to the element as Darkest had. It only obeyed her at first but then she slowly began to feel a much deeper connection to it. It spoke gently, like a whisper. It wanted nothing to do with the icy creatures but the rider persuaded the flames and they consented. Her body became outlined in a orange glow and she stepped up beside her dragon, her hands out before her. Without a audible word, a massive fireball leapt eagerly from her hands, engulfing the closest revenants. G'reth added his strength to hers, his jet of fire and hers destroying some of the revenants. Sam felt a small drain in her strength but her mind was too consumed in the battle now to focus on physical weakness.

Caelia paused. There appeared to be no one there. She turned onto the hellhound. It growled softly feeling the particles of it's body moving, swirling onto it's own plain. The priestess glanced at Laron and her nodded. They rushed out the house and back up towards a small house on the edge of Galbatorix's mighty fortress. A black horse outside lashed out with it's teeth as the two drow neared but they avoided it. Without knocking, the priestess stepped in, her brother on her heels. A dark haired man sat on a chair with his feet propped up on his table.

"Where are they?" Caelia asked him quickly.
"Exactly where they are supposed to be," he repsonded just as fast, not looking at her.
"Where exactly?"
"Out by Bullridge. Damn, it feels good to know I'll be outta this hell hole soon and living in quarters given to me by the lovely king." The man smirked. "Who else would have told him exactly where the riders were?"

Tobias smiled lightly at the priestess. "I daresay the revenants and undead will quickly finish the job,"

Sam didn't question the sudden luck. Her thoughts moved more quickly than her tongue and she opened up a deep hole in the earth underneath a group of revenants sending them plummeting into the hole. She closed it up and dove to the left. Talons just missed her as g'reth reared up, throwing most of the revenants from his back. Using the momentum, he came down with his forelegs crushing them under his talons. He arched his tail and snapped it to the side, throwing two of the clinging revenants aside. Sam jumped onto his back. "jierda!" one of the revenants neck snapped and the elf followed the other riders techique, jumping and crushing it's chest with her feet. It fell off and she felt a swish through her hair, a revenant's icy grip narrowly missing her. Sam pulled a dagger out of her boot and sent it into the revenant's eye, tearing it sideways to rip it out. She swore under breathe and shoved it off G'reth. Her thoughts had already moved to the next creature but she felt a icy slash across her lower arm. She glanced down at it, her body chilled. G'reth in anger crushed it under his foot.

Knurla called his dragon and arrived back at the capital, Uru'baen with the General's orders. He personally shut and locked any entrances into the city. Then he alerted every man on the Guard, archers, swordsman and mages; experts and novices alike; to prepare for battle. Certainly, they weren't going to allow this undead army to get anywhere near the city! But in the case they should intrude, Knurla ordered some soldiers to stay behind in the city while the rest would march out. Until dawn, Knurla created a deep trench to border the city with his magic, piling the dirt behind the trench--in front of the gates.
--

Heir could sense that something was wrong. And it didn't take him long to figure out what it was. The being that had killed him was near.
Darkest? Dead?? That's not possible.
Actually, that's not true, Heir had "killed" him once, he remembered in his past....
What was frightening Heir now was whether or not Darkest had ended up in the same place he is now...wherever it is.

PostSubject: Re: There's Something in the Air   There's Something in the Air - Page 6 EmptySat Mar 20, 2010 11:57 pm

The revenant's numbers were slowly dwindling thanks to the combined effort of three dragons, but not slowly enough. G`reth sustained several wounds, his warm body chilled by the unnatural cool of the revenants' weapons. Sam was feeling worse for wear, her body exhausted, her mind slowly following it. One creature reached to grab her but she didn't move fast enough to stop it. Waiting for its icy grip, she was surprised when she watched it soar into the air, flying backwards over the trees. The elf glanced over her shoulder. The man that had helped Salah gave her a nod, throwing the pommel of his sword into the eye of another revenant forcing it down to the ground, before severing it's body in two.

The man seemed to be muttering something under his breathe, concentrating hard. Hoping that is was something helpful, Sam tried her best to cover him while he made his spell. She leapt over G'reth tail as it whipped underneath her, removing three of the revenants from their shins in a second. The elf slashed her scimitars across their eyes and and crushed the creatures. Her dragon worked with his tail, keeping the revenants from coming near his backside, while also crushing them underneath his taloned feet.

Sam felt a shiver down her back. Dark magic. She glanced at the man, who had finished his spell. He looked at her quickly. "Get back! Everyone. Now!"

G`reth stepped back uneasily and his rider hopped delicately on his back. Following the man's gaze, she watched a a dark rift appeared. She heard a roar... and instinctively knew that it couldn't be anything good. A clawed hand reached out of the rift and grabbed one of the revenants, pulling it back into the rift. Then Sam felt the pull.. It was physical and her weary body just wanted to let go. The red dragon underneath her dug his talons into the earth, inching away from the rift. Salah and Eldor held their ground as well, both of them facing away from the rift.

The revenants, without a true spirit that was determined to live, fell back, towards the rift, some falling into it, others being grabbed by random claws, mutated hands, a hooked tail. Sam closed her eyes and then it was over. The roar ceased. She opened her eyes to see the man on his knees from fatigue, staring at the place where he had opened the planar rift. The elf closed her eyes once more, in exhaustion and thankfulness, clinging to her dragon.

There's Something in the Air - Page 6 Empty
PostSubject: Re: There's Something in the Air   There's Something in the Air - Page 6 EmptyWed Mar 24, 2010 5:25 pm

Her wingbeats were strained, blood dripping from her significantly shortened tail that he could feel, like his spine was ripped out viciously. She shot a pitiful puff of flame at the attackers they were retreating from; the soldiers had caught them hungry, cold, and tired, lending to the fact they cut off her tail.

    Vedrada's tail.

Sora was enraged by this, but first he needed to heal her. He channeled his energy, feeling, before figuring out what had to be done- for her couldn't leave it stumpy looking, that would disgrace her. Feeling his energy drain further (for he was too proud to rely on the help of even his dearest friend), he made the bone taper off, the skin grow over it, spikes erupt from it. His face paled further, skin cracking off, but there was no blood. Instead, he healed it, leaving another of the scars that wove under his eyes like the drought-ridden, hard-tamped ground of a canyon. Riddled with cracks. Kind of like mud.

"Are you okay, my darling sister, for whom I would slaughter nations?"

His voice was a low, hissing rasp, like ice cubes cracking, something old, rotten, and forgotten being dragged through damp, mildewed leaves, parts falling off sickeningly. The skin around his eyes, pale blue, tightening as he yanked the hood of the shirt he'd made himself, woven himself, over his delicate features. The pink dragon bobbed her head, allowing him to see the hollow shell of ones of her horns before she straightened, glancing down at the ground.

What are those, brother not of my kind? Her voice was rougher, curling at the edges, using their terms of affection for each other. He, too, glanced down, eyes widening.

"Down! Now!" He didn't even have to urge her, for she was gliding down already. The vampiric elf felt it too, a call that tugged at his heart, though he knew it was potentially deadly. It seemed... dead people? No, not dead perhaps, but there was a rift... "Stay away from that rift."

Good idea. Seems dangerous! Besides, there are people I want to meet there. A soft, fuzzy head shoved out of the large pocket in front of him, a kitten snuffling. Or rather, a Werecat kit. Black Annis, to be precise.

Sora shook his head, shoving her gently back in. "No... Those aren't people you'd want to meet." Not because they were dangerous, but because he didn't want to stay connected to the mortal realm; also, they were just as guilty as everyone else, and he was against murder. Though he practiced it himself, like a game. Still, Vedrada landed, skidding slightly before creeping up, beating her wings to appear larger and more intimidating. "What is that? And who are you, to have dragons? Not that I'm in any position to ask," he snapped, lifting his lips to reveal fangs as he glared, despite the fact his eyes weren't visible at all. "Name's Ygrak." A made-up word, and obviously not his real name, but he didn't care. The less they really knew about him, the better.

Providing, of course, they didn't recognize Vedrada, or manage to remove his hood.

There's Something in the Air - Page 6 Empty

Sam could barely look up, her eyes felt like closing forever. She managed to give Selene a thankful nod before turning her attention to the blade. She knew it was Wyrda, at least, a part of the blade. She pulled it delicately out of the ground, holding it on the flat of her palms. She felt some tears come to her eyes but she blinked them back and placed the blade in a scabbard on G'reth's saddle. He looked at her closely and then turned his head to the sky. His rider leaned against him in exhaustion. Her mind jumped and she raced away, stumbling towards Jezzin.
"G`reth help me..."
Her hand glowed as she held it over his wound. He didn't move. She hoped he wasn't dead. "Come on...." the elf whispered under her breathe, watching the wound close up. She watched Jezzin's eyelids, hoping for a flicker of movement from the fighter.

Sam heard the dragon land behind her and trusted G'reth to defend her if the need arose. All she felt was puzzlement and wonder from her dragon through their mental link. |What...| she asked, turning around to face the dragon. Pink dragon. "Vedrada?" she asked softly, almost certain. Pink dragons were not a common sight. With a quick glance between dragon and rider, Sam realized that they were almost as tired as they were. And as battle worn. Bloody hell.. what was coming to this world?

Wait..
She turned quickly, facing the man who opened the rift. He was on hands and knees on the ground, breathing hard.
"Who the hell are you?" the elf asked snappishly, pointing a scimitar at his throat.

The man turned his head, peering through his dishevelled brown hair to stare at the elf. He laughed, a smile appearing on his face. "Who am I? Who are you to be pointing that at me?"
"Your name! Why are you here?" Sam snapped, losing her cool for a moment. The man rolled his eyes, still smiling.
"I'm the man who saved your life. Not too mention all of theirs." He paused, staring straight into Sam's vibrant eyes. "My name is Jared, and yours is"
"Samantha," she said quietly, feeling foolish for demanding and threatenig the man who saved them from the revenants. "His name is G'reth. I'm sorry, dark magic is normally followed by another threat." Jared laughed and Sam reached out a hand to help him to his feet. He took it gently, barely using it to pull himself from the ground. He wiped off his pants and looked around, giving a light wave to the people still standing. Without a notice, Jared ran off towards Jezzin's prone form. He looked at the central wound Sam had healed and began to work his magic on the rest of the wounds. Sam kneeled down beside the dark magic user. "Thank you," she whispered softly, waiting for Jezzin to move.

"Vedrada? Ma'am, you must have the wrong dragon, for her name is not Vedrada!" Sora faked laughter, tilting his head up so they could see his eyes, so different from before- it was like they were just glass, painted, for they were dull, dull, dull. A handy trick he'd learned. "This is Edoc'sil, which, as you should know, having dragons, means unconquerable. Now, unless you'd like to learn just why she got that name, answer my questions." There was a sharp hiss, and then he was pointing the sword straight out at arm-level, waving it slightly from side to side in odd figure-eight. Lopsided figure-eights, that was.

Vedrada crouched low, baring her fangs, ready to pounce. That name is true for me- so I suggest you watch your step. Ygrak is testy at best, and right now he's at his worst, she snarled, after sending the tendril of contact needed for them to hear her. She made it as dangerous as possible, dangerous and unfriendly- though it pained her to do so.

Sora strode quickly towards where the revenants, pushing past Sam roughly to do so, frowning. Black Annis finally shoved her way out of his pocket, making her way onto his shoulder, mewling softly. "Don't worry... I won't fall in. Though it's tempting..." He snapped his head towards where Jared was, clicking his tongue. "You. Jared. What did that rift go to? Or do you not know? Not surprising if you don't- although I'm curious..." Not like he was going to go in- he wasn't stupid. Though by the way Black Annis was now shrieking, it might appear that way.

Vedrada jumped forwards, over everything, until she landed next to Sora with a resounding crash, looking at the ground curiously. It was gone... Dark magic was far beyond her ability- she was one of air, not of darkness, but it intrigued her to no end.

"Then who the hell do you think you are...?" Sam asked curiously, a tendril of thought enveloping the rider and dragon, not their minds, but physically. She knew her riders inside and out. Their aura felt so familiar... She pursed her lips angrily.

"Carcarus," Jared replied sharply, edging slightly in front of Sam to face the new rider. :I'd hope you've heard of that plane? The revenants stand no chance there."

Sam heard the chattering and turned quickly. Jared stayed watching Ygrak. The elf looked at his shaking body and grabbed his wrist. It was freezing cold. She felt the fire bubbling in her veins, calling it up again in a whisper, not dominating it. The fire came more willingly this time and she soothed it, gently urging it towards Jezzin. It flowed from her gewdey ignesia and through his wrist into his body. She felt his forehead with her other hand, hoping that this would work. If it didn't.... well, her strength was waning...

Sora hissed, glaring. "That does not matter! What does matter is she is not this Vedrada you think she is! We could even be spies for Galbatorix! But then, if we were, I wouldn't be mentioning that possibility." Or maybe he would. He wouldn't mention that, though, mainly because he really didn't want his memories investigated. He'd let her do so, if she asked nice enough, but it would be best if it didn't come to that.

"Carcarus?" he chuckled, turning around to face Jared. "Where the Goddess of Chaos in human mythology is supposed to dwell... Oh, yes, I've heard of it. Not so long ago we were nearly forced into it. I don't envy them." It was kind of hard to envy them; especially since he'd never liked the undead too much. Bit funny, because he WAS one, and forced to drink the blood of others. He supposed there was a bitter irony to this, an elf becoming a vampire, going against his code of conduct... But ah, well.

His left eye twitched, even though he was now facing away from them all, but he could sense someone watching him. A creepy sensation, and he now knew how the people whom he'd stared at felt. "Keep watching me without reason, and I promise, I will rip your tongue out and feed it to Black Annis. She's got a special fondness for tongue," he growled, and the Werekitten's shrieking turned into screeches of protest. Oh, she hated tongue, and he knew that! So why was he lying?

Finding that he wasn't going to do anything to shut her up, she jumped off his shoulder, trotting over to the man on the ground, onto his chest, nuzzling his face. You live, okay? You live! You know why? Because I hate dead bodies! So you live! she admonished, although it was only to herself- she wasn't in the mood to talk to possible dead people.

Feeling a retort coming to her lips, Sam bit her tongue in anger. Bloody hell, if she had the enregy she would teach him a lesson, Sora or not! She attention stayed on Jezzin.

Jared went to stand up, but a quick creature buried itself in his chest. He felt the fur on his face and absentmindly petted the cat. "Without reason? You just said you could be spies from Galbatorix. How do I know you didn't send the revenants and are now coming to finish the job?" His hand strayed to the sword at his waist.
